What happens if it is raining the day of the outing?

In the event that it is raining the day of the outing, you will receive a rain-check for 18 holes of golf at Sugarbush Golf Club.  The actual outing will not be rescheduled.

What time do we need to arrive?

The outing is an 8:00 am shotgun start.  We recommend showing up one hour early(7:00am) to check-in.

Can I pay the day of the outing?

You may pay the day of the outing for an increased cost.  Individual player cost is $85 the day of the outing.  We will only accept check and cash the day of the outing, no credit cards.

If I do not have a partner or team, can you find me one?

Yes, we can!   Please fill out our contact form and we will attempt to match you with a team.

What is included with the cost of the outing?

The cost of the outing includes:

  • 18 holes of golf at Sugarbush Golf Club
  • Coffee and donuts prior to your round of golf
  • Hotdog, chips, and pop at the turn
  • Box lunch after your round of golf
  • Prizes for long drive and closest to the pin(both men and womens)
  • Goodie bag
  • A day of fun!
Do you have to be an employee of the University of Michigan-Flint to play in the outing?

You do not have to be an employee of the University of Michigan-Flint to play in the outing.  The outing is open to staff, faculty, retirees of all UM campuses, as well as friends/relatives of staff/faculty/retirees.

If I’m a University of Michigan-Flint employee, do I need to take a vacation day?

Yes.  This is not a formal University of Michigan – Flint recognized event.  If you are a staff member and scheduled to work on Friday, June 10th, you will need to work with your supervisor to either request an alternative schedule for the week  of June 6-10th so that Friday is not counted as a work day, or take vacation time (excused time without pay can also be used if you do not have vacation time available) for June 10th.  If you are not scheduled to work on Friday, June 10th, you will not need to flex your schedule or take vacation time for that day.  Faculty will need to appropriately manage their work during the week so the time on June 10th for the outing is not considered as work dah.

What is the cost of the outing?

Prior to June 10, 2022 the cost of the outing is $75 per player or $300 per team.  If you would like to pay the day of the outing, the cost increases to $85 per player, or $340 per team. We will only accept check and cash the day of the outing, no credit cards.

Does the outing cost include usage of the driving range?

Yes, the cost of the outing does include driving range usage prior to your round of golf.

What do the proceeds from the outing benefit?

All proceeds from the UM-Flint Student Scholarship Outing for Staff/Faculty directly benefit student scholarships at the University of Michigan-Flint.
